NEET Rank Predictor
Estimate your AIR based on current year trends.
The NEET UG 2026 is expected to see a record-breaking 24 lakh+ aspirants competing for a limited number of government MBBS seats. In such a high-pressure environment, your raw score out of 720 is only half the story. The real factor that decides your college is your All India Rank (AIR).
Our NEET Rank Predictor uses the latest 2025-2026 data trends to give you an estimate of where you stand. Whether you are aiming for AIIMS Delhi or a top-tier state government medical college, understanding the marks-vs-rank curve is essential for a winning counselling strategy.
Expected NEET 2026 Marks vs Rank (AIR)
Due to increasing competition and “Rank Inflation,” the marks required to stay in the top 10,000 have shifted significantly. Below is the projected AIR for different score brackets in 2026:
| NEET Score (Out of 720) | Expected All India Rank (AIR) | Admission Probability (General) |
| 715 – 720 | 1 – 50 | Guaranteed AIIMS New Delhi |

NTA’s Latest Tie-Breaking Rules for 2026
What happens if thousands of students score the same marks? For 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has refined the tie-breaking policy to be more merit-centric. Age and Application Number are no longer used.
If two students are tied, the rank is decided in this specific order:
- Biology Marks: A higher score in Bio (Botany + Zoology) gets a better rank.
- Chemistry Marks: If still tied, the higher Chemistry score wins.
- Physics Marks: If still tied, the higher Physics score wins.
- Overall Accuracy: The student with a lower ratio of incorrect answers to correct answers across all subjects gets the higher rank.
- Subject-Wise Accuracy: Fewer incorrect answers in Biology than Chemistry, then Physics.
- Computerised Random Draw: If everything is identical, a computer-generated random selection breaks the tie.
Safe Score Targets for Government MBBS
Securing a seat in a Government Medical College (GMC) requires staying ahead of the “Admission Cutoff.” Here are the Safe Target Scores for 2026:
- General (UR): 615 – 630+
- OBC / EWS: 595 – 610+
- SC Category: 510 – 530+
- ST Category: 480 – 510+
Note: In high-competition states like Rajasthan, Delhi, and Haryana, General candidates should target 650+ to be absolutely safe.
Why Rank Inflation Happens in NEET
You might notice that a score of 600 which used to get a rank of 15,000 now lands around 25,000. This happens due to:
- Aspirant Inflation: Over 2 lakh new students join the race every year.
- NCERT Centricity: Papers being strictly based on NCERT make it easier for top students to score near-perfect marks, causing “clustering” at the top.
- High-Yield Resources: Better access to online coaching and mock tests has raised the average performance level of the entire country.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is 600 a good score in NEET 2026?
Yes, 600 is a strong score. While it might be borderline for All India Quota (AIQ) for the General category, it is very safe for securing a Government MBBS seat via the 85% State Quota in most states.
How many marks are needed for AIIMS Delhi?
For AIIMS New Delhi, you generally need to be in the Top 50-100 ranks. For the General category, this requires a target of 710–720 marks.
What is the difference between Qualifying Cutoff and Admission Cutoff?
Qualifying Cutoff: Usually 140-165 marks. It only makes you eligible to apply for counseling.
Admission Cutoff: Usually 600+ marks. It is the actual mark at which a government college closes its doors.
Do biology marks really decide my rank?
Yes, in any tie-breaker situation, Biology is the priority. This is why toppers always focus on scoring a perfect 360/360 in Biology.
How accurate is this Rank Predictor?
Our predictor is based on a linear regression model of the last 3 years of NTA data. However, the exact rank depends on the difficulty level of the 2026 paper. If the paper is tough, ranks will improve at lower scores!
